Whittier Area Audubon offers grants for our Birding in a Box activity box.
Teachers, administrators, after-school and out-of-school staff can apply to receive Birding in a Box from the Whittier Area chapter of the National Audubon Society.
Birding in a Box includes:
National Audubon’s Audubon Adventures subscription including on-line suggestions,

Ten child-size binoculars,
A set of 30 owl pellets for dissection,
A set of craft supplies for either a birdhouse or birdfeeder, and
A set of student journals with directed activities.
The activities are intended for Grades 3 to 5. Value of receivables – approximately $300.
Interested parties should send a written request to our chapter’s email info@whittieraudubon.org and include the following information:
Name of School and District
Name of teacher and/or staff using the material
Grade and number of students who will be using the material
Estimated dates of use
Description of how you plan to use the material to enhance your STEAM program
Recipients will be required to provide before and after feedback from the students. If satisfactory feedback is received, materials can remain the property of the school/program. Consumables can be replenished at the discretion of the Board of Directors of Whittier Area Audubon season, providing that the required feedback has been received.
